Celebrating 15 years of HGV jobs with ‘some of the best companies in the area’
When Gary Merrill signed up to our recruitment agency with the aim of securing a high-quality HGV job, little did he know that he would still be with us more than a decade later.
Gary, who relocated from Cornwall to Stoke-on-Trent, is a qualified professional HGV driver and wanted to secure work when he and his family moved back to the area where he grew up. That was 15 years ago and during that time, Gary has never worked for any other recruitment agency.
“I’ve never felt the need to,” Gary explains. “Premier Drivers has always found me plenty of driving work, and with some of the best companies in the area.”

Gary continues: “As a professional driver, there is a certain criteria that you’re looking for. You want to work with some big names, receive good rates of pay and with no quibbles over time sheets. “I’ve always been allowed to stipulate how much work I want and when,” says Gary. “I’ve recently gone down to three or four days a week, which allows me to enjoy a long weekend when I want to, and a good work-life balance.”
